There are several hop up options for the pede, probably the most popular ones are ESC(electronic speed control) some guys like the traxxas XL-1 but it is limited to a 17 turn motor, if you want unlimited motor potential alot of guys like the reactor ESC and the super rooster ESC. now on to the motor, again this goes back to the ESC, if you have a ESC that can handle any motor well... the sky's the limit on motors, alot of guys like the speed gems motors and there are tons of aftermarked motors out there.
I would also suggest you replace your wheel bushings with bearings, Traxxas sells the bearing kit as do alot of aftermarket companies, with bearings you get less rolling friction which results in faster runs and longer run times. and the list goes on and on, from shocks to servo's the options are endless. I guess it all depends on how much you want to spend
hope this helps ya a little, grab one of the R/C mags they are full of aftermarket companies that have all the hop ups you want

First off, welcome to the world of Stampede! There are the Clod wheel adapters. I'm told you can make them yourself or buy 'em but I don't know how or where... http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/smile.gif Lotta help there wasn't I? Somebody will put it up here for ya.
As for other hop-ups there are too many to list. Bearings are one of the best but you might want the larger bearing carriers made by RPM. They also make a large front bumper thats a life saver, gear cover, esc mounting plate, wheels etc. ESP makes a great looking front tube bumper/skid plate, nerf bars and a wheelie bar. One easy way is to do a search for "stampede" on Tower Hobbies and see what all pops up. Hope this helps a bit.

Are you looking for bigger wheels or better looking wheels? RPM makes some of the best looking wheels on the market. They are a direct fit for the Stampede. If you put other wheels on it, make sure you have enough motor to turn them. Other wheels are much heavier and increase rotational mass which translates to lower speeds. I personally migh ttry the T/EMAXX wheels. They should fit ok. Proline makes tires for just about every purpose you can imagine. Good luck with your new R/C vehicle. I too got back into the hobby after several years away. A lot has changed in the past few years.
