Won't work very good at all. I tried it with the Titan motors out of my EMaxx after replacing them with Monster Maxx motors. The problem is that they are made to run off 14.4 volts, not 7.2 so your motor only runs at half its peak power capacity. It results in slow performance like when your battery is ready to dump at the end of a run. Try a good 540 modified with 17 or more turns and you will be a lot better off and save money with your XL-1 speed control, or replace your controller with a high price one and put a 9 turn modified in their and beat anything in the neighorborhood.

No problem. I run a 17T speed gem that I purchased for $30 and I am more than satisfied with it. I do recommend bearings if you don't have them already.
