Hey mikeinhi, I did the same thing to my pede and I called Traxxas and they sent me a new set of gears and a new servo saver.
I was told that I stripped mine by jumping, I guess when you land and your wheels are turned the impact can strip the gears.
hope this helps ya bro

you could upgrade youre servo. www.servocity.com (http://www.servocity.com)
I have blown about 4 steering servos because the poor servo saver and the non bellcrank setup. its all good tho. just dont jump into metal poles and stuff

i agree. something about the traxxas servos they just don't hold up on these. i would replace the servo with another brand(hitech or futaba)...sorry traxxas. i replaced mine and have had no trouble since.

the servo gear stripped on my pede - i called traxxas, the gearesets were on backorder - good thing i had another servo.
i'm going to get the cirrus 65mgbb servo - it's $22 at hobbypeople.
i don't think replacing the traxxas gear set is the answer anyway - a beefier servo is clearly needed.

It isn't just the Traxxas servos that strip. Any cheap servo is going to strip due to the stress of jumping. I installed a Futaba S128 after stripping my Traxxas servo and the same thing happened. The Emaxx steering servo has 80oz of torque and only costs $25. I am going to take out my Emaxx servo and put ot in my 'pede then buy a good metal gear servo for my EMaxx.
