hello all,
I'm a new happy stampede owner

I have a tower 1500mAh battery that is alright. But i wish to get some longer run times. I have a durtrax mini peak intell peak charger that can handle ni-mh cells. So what type of battery do most of you guys use?

thanks for any in-put it helps alot.
Jason

If you have the money I would recomend to buy 2400 and 3000, for sure don't buy 1700 because even though the have a long run time they are made to be used once a day or so I heard.

Hey speedy, I use sanyo 1500's and they work fine and it was only 20 bucks at the LHS
you could go with the 3000's for alot more money and a little more run time.
It's just personal preference.

I bought a pair of 3000 Ni-mH stick packs nearly a year ago, always charged them with a Mega Peak charger and have loved 'em. Probably be better with the proper charger but hey, I can't complain, the runtimes are great. http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey Speedy, get a better battery for your longer run times, But also, if you haven't already, replace the bushings for bearings, replace the MSC for an ESC, and even gear down a bit on your pinion. Granted when you gear down you won't be as fast but your run time will improve. If you geared to high you could be heating up your motor too and you lost your run time there and even some lost speed.

Don't get 3000's they require too much care to keep them in their best opperating condition. I would go with 2400 because of their better durability than 3000 and longer runtimes over 2000.
