View Full Version : Stampede slow down

I would like to slow down my stampede significantly so that my 4 yr old son can use it. I never run it any more so I thought he could give it a try. I have already gotten an 18 tooth pinion and 87 tooth spur, and right now it has a P2K that i got it with. Any suggestions? I have been told to get a closed endbel 540, but I haven't looked around to see where I might get one.

go get a 10 tooth pinion and use it...that will slow it down alot....18 and 87 would still be kinda fast

is there any chance of damage being done to the motor, esc, etc by gearing too low. I just really want him to not lose control while I drive circles around him with my HPI Nitro MT.

Go to your local hobby shop and ask them if they have a cheap throwaway motor like the ones that come in the Kyosho and Tamiya kits. These are absolutely the slowest motors you can get and the run time is awesome. Great for a small child whose reaction time is slower and wants run time. They may even give you one for free. It shouldn't cost more than $7.

Hey 24601 you could also go to radio shack and get a motor, they should have some there for the "toy" RC cars and trucks they have
and I would think they would be fairly inexpensive
