View Full Version : shuts off when landing upside down

I have been having problems running with my nr lately. first, its a 2.5 engine, traxxas blue tuned pipe. run on 20% blue thunder race formula.
I like to do jumps in my backyard quite frequently. Lately, when i mess up a jump, and land on the lid, the engine shuts off. it doesnt happen going around turns and gently rolling over. then it will sit upside down idleing away until i flip it back over. no overheating or other problems.

get a fuel filter and some longer fuel lines.
sounds like your running out of fuel when you on the lid.
mine used to do the same thing until i got a fuel filter and added about 2 inches of extra fuel line. i also set my idle slightly high so it can run upside down all day long if it has too.:)

i have a fuel filter and fuel lines that are a good bit longer than stock. when it hits on the lid with a hard thunk, the engine shuts off instantly. if it rolls gently, it will stay on the lid idleing away, with no problems.

i have the same problem, if the car barrel rolls or tumbles heavily its not so bad, but if i do a jump and it lands on the lid (so motor side down) it cuts out straight away. i think the problem is the fuel lid possibly opening allowing air into the fuel lines quicker... possibly, im still unsure though. i extended my fuel lines today by about 2 inch, still running the filter aswell.
