anyone else notice this from the stock traxxas ones.trx ones fit kinda snug, rpm ones are loose fitting?jumping the other day and one even came off the piston rod and my spring went all retarded

im thinking....i added a small strip of tape to the piston rod end so the cup fits snug but tape comes off so im thinging maybe a thin layer of shoo goo along the inside rim of the cup, letting it dry and seeing if it will snuggly fit like stocks

Interesting. I've always used the Traxxas ones.

I have a pair on one of my sons pedes, but haven't had any problems with it yet - he's only 4, so doesn't do any hairy jumping yet!

BTW- a neat trick that might help you is to take a skinny balloon (the kind clowns use to make balloon animals) and slide it over the shock, all the way up to the upper spring perch. Now slide your spring over it, and push the lower spring retainer over the balloon to lock it onto the rod end. Cut the balloon off just below the retainer.
This protects your shock shafts and keeps them clean, but allows for quick/easy spring changes/adjustments.

In your case, the extra material between the retainer and rod end might keep them from popping off.

I like this better than the typical way of putting the balloon over the entire spring.
