Ouch, that really stinks, I'd be really nervous about any really fine grains of sand getting into the slide on in the carb and also any damage to the piston and sleeve... Definately need to take everything apart and clean it very well just to make sure there isn't debris still lingering in the engine, i'm sure you've already gone there though. If you're having a lot of troubles with the engine still you might want to check out the trx engines forum here... trx engines (http://monster.traxxas.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=44) you might be able to track down some useful information there. Good luck!

If it will not continue to run without the glow igniter, my guess would be that the glow plug is bad. Hopefully that is all that it is. If this does not cure the problem you may have a compression issue.

Look at your glow plug. chances are that the sand going into your engine crushed the coils. Like smg323 mentioned that sand could have caused premature ware. So you might need new piston, sleeve and conneting rob. One question though. Do you ziptie your air filter on?

One time, i fliped my rusty over without rhe body on, and it knocked the filter housing to the side, and the gear witht he slipper on it, ate it!, i had to get a new housing, and a new gear, the teeth on it was nearly gone, lol, the zip tie stayed though! :)

happens to my frinds all the time, spacejam. the only reason it doesnt happen to me is im too good of a driver to hit anything ;) just kidding. yeah ive had that happen once or twice... now something loud is my friend ofna ultra lx pro with the .25 and the pipe coming off. something you dont want to happen lol.

i made the pipe fall off once. was goin off road at wot, then went to turn and hit a big rock, this resulted in about 10 cartwheels. Unlucky for me, it landed on its wheels and proceded down the road at wot because all i had was steering, no throttle/brakes. so i tried to turn it around, but trying to turn it around goin 40mph and having only a 20ft wide road, it turned and hit the curb at wot, fliped upsidedown, knocked off the pipe, bent the a arm hinge pins, and was goin wot upsidedown with no resistance. i didnt break anything, but it was my first run away, and i got a fail safe and havent had one since.

i've had the same problem lately. I am going to go to Home Depot and get a zip tie tool that cinches it extra tight. if that doesn't work I was going to try a coupling that is longer and that will allow me to put at least 3 zip ties on.

If you want something that will grip your pipe with it's very life then go down to home depot or ur local hardware shop and grab one of those little metal clamps that they use for garden hoses and stuff. You tighten it by screwing it tight, i guarentee you it won't come off anymore after using one of those.

Well, if youve bent ur header like I did, even hose clamps wont help.:( I had to bend the hanger wire so it pushes the pipe really hard against the header, now it never falls off. :D Try that, as the hanger wire can be bent back if needed.

that's a good idea. the only problem with that is that I can never find anything I need to buy in Home Depot! would it be with the garden area with the hoses?

Yup you should find it in the same area where they carry garden hoses and stuff like that. They are super cheap and go a long way to keeping things in place and are totally reusable. If your not quite sure what they look like i can post some pics later.

Ok here's the pics, you should have a pretty good idea of what those clamps look like. Posted a couple extra pics of my rusty, these are the first pics i've taken of her.

I was having the same problem and I read in an RC car magazine to bend the outer edge of the hearder out with a screwdriver so the coupling fits tight. Sure enough it worked. I hit the gutter head on at WOT as I missed the jump and off came the exhaust, thats loud.
