Hello,

Which G2 chassis would you go with? Carbon Fiber, or Aluminum? and why?

If you're unsure what I'm talking about, please visit www.gorillamaxx.com

Thanks,

I went with aluminum. I thought it might be abit stronger (??) and was not overly concerned about the slight weight difference as the Carbon Fiber is abit lighter.

Very nice by the way...

it says stock chassis weight so get it it will be stronger. U wouldnt be doing yourself a favor if u didnt get alloy since i doubt you'd be doing racing.

Well I decided to go for the Carbon Fiber version. My reasoning is it's lighter, more flexible, and still durable. I'll give the aluminum chassis extra points for looks.. however Carbon Fiber looks pretty spanky in real life compared to pictures... you just can't get that shimmering effect from a picture. ..my 2 cents..

Carbon Fiber for racing, Aluminum for bashing. Seems like the side carbon fiber plates might break off in a bad landing or really rough offroading.

I was kinda thinking the same thing, however I figure that any hit with enough force to break carbon fiber should bend 6061 aluminum. Bent aluminum isn't cool either...

I agree... The look of carbon fiber is awesome!!! I see aluminum on trucks all the time, but carbon fiber is much more rare. If you're trying to choose between the two (cf and aluminum) just for looks, I guess it depends what the rest of your truck is. If it's something like GA MAxx's E-Maxx, then obviously the aluminum chassis will look better!! :D ;)

Wow, that stuff is pretty awesome. The G-Maxx project page said that the aluminum chassis setup was .4 oz over stock. How much lighter is the Carbon Fiber Chassis compared to stock... anyone know? Psyire, good call on the carbon fiber... super strong, super light, and super sexy!
