View Full Version : Feature your most looking forward to

i ono, just a little something interesting here(sorry but im just in love with this revo). If you could pick one new feature from the Revo that you think will totally help you own the track come race day, what would it be?
Myself, im looking forward to the zero bump steer
"Revo’s computer modeled suspension geometry eliminates bump steer through the entire range of suspension travel. From full extension to full compression, the front wheels point straight ahead. The result is precise steering control no matter how rough the trail is."

I think the dual chamber pipe and redesigned tank will keep pressure up will ease tuning problems.

I'm hoping for better cornering than the T

all in all it looks like an awesome truck i hopw we with t maxxes will be able to find a way to convert to the new slipper system i want that i also like the electronic tranny controle
but the feture i like the most is the ability to utilize a starter box that is the most important to me but i am talking out my you know what because im never getting rid of the .21 t maxx

bump start compatable:D :D :D :D :D

I love the suspension!!! The travel is amazing and that's what I like to see. Just how all that suspension is setup is amazing. It's also pretty cool how you can change the rockers and stuff!!

I think the suspenion looks real interesting. TRhe design is crazy and it looks like it will work real nicely. The electronic 2speed and other electronic things also r kinda cool.

I see so many great features that it just blew me away!
I think the simplified steering linkage will prove to be one of the great driveability enhancements. Just look at how many movable connections are between the servo and wheels on the T-maxx steering....
The Revo also has a push-pull design using two servos. This should virtually eliminate the slop in the wheels which will help keep the vehicle going straight with minimal driver input!!!!
Then I just  the sealed shafts and pivot balls.
And, the elimination of the clutches for forward and reverse will make the Revo transmission much nicer.

me i'm looking forward to this whole truck, everyhting abiout is great

I am looking foward to the release of this truck but it looks a little pricey. I will have a lot of grass to cut so I can get one.(woe is me) My favorite thing about the truck is the starter box compatibilty. With My T , I have gone through two pullstarts, a easystart. I think I'm cursed.

you can fit an Ofna hyper race engine (http://www.ofna.com/eng-hyper21-8portRace.html) !! It can only be started with a bump start, no pull start avalaible for that engine. Had been eyeing this engine for long!

Less rollovers. Lower CG and wide stance should enhance cornering and keep the shiny side up.

I love the Bump Start Feature and I also like the ability to add a reciever pack without the need to replace the switch harness, and it has a charge jack all built in. Sealed Tranny and Diffs, means less maint and the ability to make them posi with the silicone oil like 1/8 scale diffs is a large much needed sooner improvement.
Now about them servo's. Any Metal Gears in them? The LST's steering ones are metal geared, you've done such a good job so far, don't get cheap on us, and the same for the throttle servo.
04-08-2004, 05:40 PM
the LST is the losi right... If so the main reason it has metal gears is because of the weight, it has a .21, and it is huge LOL!!! I also love the whole truck,
Better 1/8 style Diffs
No clutchs in Tranny
Two Steering Servos
New Gas Tank
04-08-2004, 05:47 PM
Yeah the Losi LST, but still, plastic gears on the steering to me is just a no-no anymore. Heavy or not, your gona end up stripping them out one way or another. I'll end up taking both out and use one Airtronics 200 oz Mg servo. :D
Anyway, am I reading this right, the Revo comes with the reciever pack and charger out of the box?
04-08-2004, 05:49 PM
Yes it does, Bob
Man I just love how there are no more clutches in the tranny. Instand accel. I also just love the sealed everything and extra large drive shafts.

i think my top 5 favorite features form best to least would have to be
1. Sealed Electronics
2.Kwik Pins To Take Off Electronics And Fuel Tank(I am a clean freak!)
3.Whole Suspension Setup
4.Pipe And Tank
5.All The New Hump Pack And Electronics

Do you think this car will be able to accept a big block without any modifications? The place where the engine sits looks pretty big so it looks as if one would fit. I'm not complaining about the 2.5 just i've read alot of threads about ppl wanting big block power.
If it can accept a big block, that will be rated pretty high on my list of features.:D

I like the hole design but i like the look of that new gas tank

I don't think a .21 will just drop in (unless it uses a special modified motor mount)... The mounting holes may also have to be moved back or something. But there might be enough room there to use the stock chassis.
Traxxas, have you guys tried the Revo with a .21.... Just out of curiosity???
04-09-2004, 12:28 AM
The feature i think that is the best wud have to b the whole truck because it is a totally new design and great suspension
04-09-2004, 01:58 AM
Ya the hole truck it has so much new stuff relly how could you pick just one thing
04-09-2004, 12:20 PM
I like the suspension. I have always liked that kind of suspension but i didn't think it was possible on an R/C truck. I like it because it provides more travel and i'm sure it weighs less than the 8 shocks and all on the maxx.
04-09-2004, 02:07 PM
i think it will be alot harder to CUSTOM mod the REVO becasue everything is like contour fit and design but people who think aftermarket parts arent gunna work they are wrong because the company will make them just as SLEEK and cool looking!!
04-09-2004, 07:06 PM
I like the out-the-back exhaust (not easily accomplished on a nitro rustler). Especially since it is blue anodized. No more cheap plastic ugly pipe!!!!:D :p Exhaust deflector is also cool. All the little things are going to make this one kickin' truck!

revised 2.5 notice the pic of the tack at 50,000 rpms
and no bumpsteer they cant accomplish no bump steer in a real car yet traxxas did it im my soon to be rc, well bmw does come close but not as close as traxxas:)
out the back exhaust is appreciated also

It has already been said; but I am looking foward to the articulation of the suspension. It seemed to go through the rough stuff in the video like it was nothing. I also was impressed with the curb jumping.

My favorite feature after getting to play with one is something you might not even notice until you see one in person. The throttle linkage uses a U shaped piece to connect to the carb. It makes pulling the engine out that much easier.
It's that kind of attention to detail that make the truck so awesome!
