Did traxxas get bought out or something? I'm not complaining, but i see some nice improvements over the other trucks, and any rtr really....
1) NiMH reciever pack? Hmm, that has the same mah as the pack i use on my npede, and it comes with the truck?
2) Threaded shocks? Hmm, cool...
3) A peak detecting reciever batt charger?
4) Hex screws? err...
5) Machined head? I thought you said cast was better.
6) Different springs available from traxxas? I always wondered why you guys didnt do that...
Now, of course i have to make constructive criticism, so heres the things i dont like...
1) If you're going to have metal shock bodies, put metal caps on them too..with all the other expensive unneeded stuff that comes with it, why leave them plastic? It's going to cost what, like an extra 5 dollars for that?
2) Almost all the screws thread into plastic. I absolutely hate threading screws into plastic, the plastic has a tendency to strip out no matter how heavy duty it is. Locknuts might be a pain but i prefer them because they dont strip out, and they dont loosen as easily. Team losi has threaded metal inserts that go in the chassis. Much nicer design in my opinion.
3) Those half shafts look like they have the possibility of being weaker because they have more splines, which means the splines have to be smaller. Maybe i'm wrong though.
Now, don't get me wrong, this wasnt intended to start a flame war, and if for some reason that starts, i don't want to see the thread ruined over it. Just some comments and some constructive criticism :)
I like the truck and i intend to buy one when it comes out. Any idea what the price range might be? The extra stuff it comes with scares me, seems like the price might have to be steep..
