I have had my panisonic partable CD player for ataleast 8 years and it worked great. I mostly use it in the marning on the school bus. But now it is dieing. I wanted to know what a good one is. My buget is $100 and that is if it is just the bets beyond best player. I would like to spend about 50 bucks. I want good sound quaility good battery life. I was looking at a sony one with a radio built in it was some sport model but it had no pause button witch is dumb plus it was 99bucks and I really did not want to spend that much. So pleas recomend one. This is the handhelp partable kind I am talking about.

You should try getting the Sony Walkman. I have heard that was a good one and a lot of the kids at my school have them. They work really good and are good on the battery life. They also have something like 30 sec skip I think but don't know. You should look into that one.

mini disc players are a little over $100
i have an amazing cd player its the sweetest thing i have ever had and it has up to 95 hours of battery life on 2 AA batteries here is a link click here (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1055388005557&skuId=5568272&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat27600050008)
I have the Sony Walkman model D-NE518CK (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051826202990&skuId=5276462&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat27600050008). The sound is superb; I can hear talking and mumbling in the background of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" that I've never heard before... spiffy stuff.
The only problem I have is with the headphones. Even when adjusted properly, they don't stay in place when I move around. I think they're made for people with round heads like Charlie Brown.

I like buying the $20 cheapies. This way, when they get dropped or flung around my car because of an emergency stop, its no big deal. The last one I got was from Best Buy, it even plays mp3's burned onto a CD-R. I use it in my car with a FM adapter because my old jalopy doesn't even have a cassette player.......
