View Full Version : EVX help !!

Guys I am trying to find out can a EVX be converted to 7.2v instead of the 14.4v. If so how do you do it? I got one in a trade for my clod project and for weight reasons only want to run one battery. Any help would be great. and or pics on how to do it.
This is the only place I thought someone would know how to do it!

I thought it can run with only one battery pluged in.

This diagram is from a fella called MaxxJester at another forum. Don't know if he hangs here or not, just want to give him credit for his work... He is running 2 packs in parallel, but you can run just one to save weight.
So, yes - the EVX will work on 7.2V! Just keep an eye on the ESC temps though, because 2 low turn modifieds on 6 cells will pull more current than a pair of Titans on 14 cells. And as we all know, it's not voltage that kills - it's the current.
IMO, the Super Rooster would be better for your application.

if i were to do this with stock evx and titans, wouldn't i get double the run-time and half the torque and half the speed?
i.e. however fast and powerful the titans are at 7 volts, but for double the time of a single pack?

if you just want more run time, run 4 packs at once. just wire them in parellel and you wont blow up the evx.
and you will still get stock speeds and toruqe (maybe a little less from the weight)
a few people make chassis just for that type of goal
both are almost the same, just difrent makers, and colors.

thanks for that!!
although at ~US130 i won't be getting it soon... (i know lots of you wouldn't blink before spending that but...)
