stock vr stock the Pede will eat up the rustler(or anyother traxxas in that matter)the masher 2000's dont really add any top end, they are similar in diamiter as thestock, but the 2 trucks are to close in top speed to really juge who is faster, they arer about dead even.

the main reason the rustler has faster top speed cause of the gearing.

pede has a ratio of 3.71:1
rustler is 2.51:1

which mean the rustler goes faster overall but will not accelerate faster. The pede is the oposit. Now put a 20 tooth clutch bell on the pede and she'll keep infront of the rustler all the way http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/smile.gif

speed/acceleration depends on gearing and power to weight ratio.

I agree with the others said my friend just bought a rustler and we were racing the other day and I wasted him even when he had a 50ft lead.I also need to teach my friend how to drive better but I don't think it would have helped.I am running a 20t clutch and a 64t spur I am also looking at trying to get a 22t clutch and a 54t spur then I think my truck will fly.

How is the Nitro Stampede acceleration compared to the Rustler? Also, with tires like Masher 2000's on a Nitro Stampede, is the top speed comparable between these trucks?
