I just got a Firebird Commander because the nice people at my LHS traded my broken XL for a new one. I am planning to fly it tomarrow and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to keep from crashing on the first flight?
Thanks,
guy

Find an experienced pilot and have him train you. I don't know about these Firebird planes but just going out and trying to fly with no experience is asking for a crash.

you ask about this kind of thing before getting a plane, guys.i firebird commander is about the cheapest and worst you can get, the whole firebird series and everything like it will not fly right, WARNING:THEY ARE NOT FOR BEGGINERS, NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY! you want a kit!it costs about $165 for it but it is infinite times easier to fly than any firebird will do.go to gws and get a slow stick or a tiger moth and the stuff needed to build it.

I'd try to find a flying club in your area to join, so you can have someone coach you on how to fly. If that isn't an option for you, you can get a pretty decent idea of RC flight by practicing with a RC flight simulator. I've got the old Dave Brown Flight sim, and it helped me out a lot. The newer simulators are a lot more realistic.
