How do you guys like your nitro stampedes? I'm seriously considering getting one for my youngest son and would like to hear from those who've got one. He runs an electric stampede now so I thought this would be a natural progression for him. Besides I need another gas truck in the family to race my savage against.

:D, i love my npede. it wasn't a easy transsition though. the npede has no rev. and the took me a couple of days to get used to. it also has more speed than the epede. but yeah, i would buy my son one if i had a son. oh yeah how old is he??????

love it. rip n rip some more! lol
or in your case itll be plug, push and rip... tons of power.

i love my pede. they handle alot diffrent then the epede's. there faster, don't turn as good an harder to handle. BUT 100,000,000 times more fun then electric

it is the bomb it pops wheeles like nothing but if he is 10 and under make it go slower becouse it is kind hard to handel on the rood

His epede was pulling wheelies on every take off until I put a slipper clutch on it. I've got a kyosho magnetic mayhem in his with the stock gearing, novak 610-hrv esc, full bearings and it hauls butt and has fantastic handling. I don't know now because I had to think of how much money I spent on his older brother and it's only fair that I spend near the same on him. I suppose a tmaxx would be in order because I don't think he could handle a truck with a larger engine. I may have to sit down and think about this a bit more before I decide on what to do. Thanks for the replies.

How do your npede's handle? I have an epede with a 17t and m2k's and it tips and flips everytime I turn it on pavement at full throttle. Does the npede do that or does the weight of it keep it down?
puffnstuff, how do you like your savage? One of these days I'm thinkin about gettin rid of the epede and gettin a tmaxx or savage. But I've never been around a nitro so I'm not buying one until I am sure.

no its the npedes design. too narrow for real fast n sharp turns. im geared 23/66 and i just did a full throttle turn in the grass. probably flipped 5 times.

do the bigger tmaxxs roll and flip less?
how often do you have to rebuild a nitro motor?
10-05-2003, 09:07 PM
Tmaxxs CAN roll over but generally dont as stock... theyre much wider... but if you geared a maxx up to hit 50 and cranked the wheel itll flip too.
you rebuild motors generally after 5 gallons depending on how u tuned it.

About how much does a tank hold? and how long does it take to empty it? ie how long of a runtime?
10-05-2003, 09:19 PM
npedes tank is 75cc instead of 125 like tmaxx (but maxx tanks can be mounted up if ya like drilling holes in your chassis) and about 10 min run times.

I have a pede. that I put a trx2.5 in and it will actually smoke the tires on the tar! a custom bumper with 3 ounces of lead keeps the front down the 2.5 is awesome the conversion is well worth the money

only problem id have with the 2.5 is most ive seen (ive actually tried to tune a few) and it was too touchy.

my motor has run great since day 1 on the settings it came out of the box with just .250 of a turn lean and it always runs great you just get your slipper set right:
10-06-2003, 12:54 AM
Yeah, when i got my NPede i took it outta the box, put it together and charged the EZ start battery and my Pede Started right up!

Thanks to everyone who participated in this thread as I found it very helpful. However today I took my son to our lhs and bought him a new savage 25 just like mine. I couldn't believe that they had one when I called so I went down and got it for him.
