But lesson 1 keep your emax out of the water...
01-17-2001, 07:38 PM
Uhh, maximum st. i am sure that is an e, not a t. And bob can just skip lesson 1 becaause he knows how to keep water out of his e. Dont believe everything you read here.

Thanks guys! That snow-blasting is even more fun than it looks! http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Oh, and in case anybody was wondering, I did "splash-proof" my E before this, I posted some pics on how I did it HERE (http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/Forum20/HTML/000028.html)
Maximum ST: Thanks dude, yeah it would make a good (and *fun*) way to clear the driveway! And, yupp, its an E-Maxx (in the *snow* - GASP!) http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/wink.gif
maxxwrencher: hehe..thats almost no joke, I was lying down facing the truck trying to drive an shoot pix the same time. I had to make a few quick moves once in a while when those spikes got a *bit* too close for comfort http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/eek.gif!
Rustlerboy: Thanks man! Yeah, same thing here...we had 2 1/2 feet of snow, then had a sudden turn of the weather - now its all gone..
Hobie: thanks, yeah you gotta cover up your electronics before ya go out for a spin. Check out the post that I linked above to see what I did.
Maxxracer: Good call bro, yupp no nitro here, just some milliamps flowing around http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/smile.gif
And yeah, you are right, you can drive this thing pretty much where ever you wanna as long as you cover up all the electronics. Heck, its no different then any other E-truck! If ya just stay on dry land you're missing out on a lotta fun http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Racer: Thanks dude! It was a *blast*!

Hey Thor! Once again, nice shots of a sweet ride! I've got a question for ya though... I know you've done a LOT with your Pede(s) and given me a ton of ideas in the process but I've been looking at the E-Maxx since long before it was released. Theres no way I can afford two rides which leads me to the question, if you could only have one would it be the Pede or the E-Maxx and why? I know I could off my Pede and get the E but I'm just not sure if I wanna do it...yet. Thanks in advance for the input!

No...noooo...NOOOO!!! Don't *do* this to me bro http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/wink.gif
Gawd...hmmm.....ok lets see...
- Easy to work on, hop-up, modify.
- cheap parts, less batteries, less stuff too brake.
- tons of fun, jumps like crazy...
- The most impressive piece of E-truck engineering I have ever seen..
- awesome amount of power/torque
- super prescis handling, killer suspension.
- unlimited potential for future mods..
- bottomless hop-up market..
I'm sorry man, I just can't make the call. There is no way I would give up either!
Keep in mind though, a brand new pede kit cost about the same as a pair of good batteries. And I am sure you have a truckload of parts for it..
OK, this is my suggestion....unfeasable as it may be:
Keep the pede (how much money can you really get for it?, or if you can get a good lump of $ for it, sell it and plan on purchasing a pede kit later (you can run them both of one radio) Save/borrow/steal money for the E-Maxx....
OK, I'm not really helping here, am I? http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Can't help but laugh here, didn't mean to do that to ya dude but with all I've seen you do to your Pede and again with the E I figured you'd be the best person to ask. Still greatly appreciate it though. http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/smile.gif
Now, to kinda take off the way you did...
-already got a ton of hop-ups, not a whole lot more I even plan on doing other than the RPM bearing carriers.
-cheap parts...well, so far I've never broken anything. I have a blast trust me, but I'm also, well...I'm not the worlds greatest driver but I think I do pretty ****ed good.
-less batteries, I've got a pair of Dynamite 3000's and a pair of Sanyo 2000's, that's still some fairly good runtime or isn't it?
-jumping, I do more of it in my buddies basement while waiting for him to get ready then I do when I'm actually out bashing.
-Power and Torque, that's what its all about in my eyes. http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/smile.gif The handling sounds great and I love a good suspension. As for hop-ups I wouldn't be looking to do anything right away so that's not an issue.
Now as for my Pede, I actually don't have much for spare parts. The RPM bumper, a body...sheesh, now that ya mention it I don't have much of anything. Could probably hold it all in one hand.
If I did get rid of it for an E the only things I'd keep would be my four batteries and my charger. What little else there is would go with the Pede. Gotta remember I've only been into the hobby for, well just about a year on the nose.
I dunno, again its just something I'm pondering. Guess I'll know for sure when and if it happens.

Dang it, now i want an E-maxx. But homw is it possible that it costs more than a nitro???

Thor - YOU HAVE THE BADDEST SNOW PICS EVER!
Keep it up and keep the tips rolling (I get almost all of my ideas from your messages). http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/wink.gif

01-31-2001, 12:43 PM
Hehe..optimus, you wanna be careful, you could end up with some pretty wacked out ideas http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Pretty slick ride, hopefully I can get some bigger wheels and take my rustler out in some of that.
