Go with brass or aluminum tubing; steel is too heavy...

Do you think that aluminum or brass will be strong enough? If so what do i use to fasten those can i braze them? The reason i was going with steel is because i am good at welding.

I know that you can weld aluminum; I believe it can be TIG and arc welded, possibly MIG welded, too. I'm not 100% sure of how it's done, but I know it can be.
If you don't want to take chances, just use a blow torch and solder it.

Welding aluminum is EXTREMELY hard. It is very easy to melt the aluminum you are welding and mess up the piece you are working on. It's kind of like welding a nail to a piace of 1/6" thick sheet steel.
If you go with brass though, you could braze it, but I think brass would be too soft for a roll cage.
Personally, I would go with thin wall, 1/4" steel tubing. You'll still have to be careful welding though. It may be heavier, but you aren't going to be racing with a roll cage so...
You can get steel here (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPL66&P=7).
