no matter what you do there is no way in heck that you can get that thing to 70 mph you must be dreaming but if you want more speed your got to buy stuff like 65t spur gear 22t cluch bell will probobly make it go 45 mph add tuned pipe and a lil over 50 like 54 mph then tire slicks new engine cooling head vented flyweel and a long striaght away you could probobly top out at 60 thats as close as i can predict

get a .21!!
aside from stripping your trany you might reach 70 lol
Kn + Kn -> Kn2: see periodic table...

LOL imagine a .21 in a rustler that would haul and it would eat tires like nuts
Dude lay off the 60 percent!

sooper, you won't go past 45 with those upgrades

Also put bigger wheel, you will loose some accelaration but gain on top speed.

By changing the Gears you can get it to go over 45 and by putting bigger tires on you might just reach 50MPH and thats with a new tuned pipe but everthing else stock.

nononono your all wrong.. it can be done... you take your rustler.. goto the top of a 20 story building.. drop it over the edge =]... it'll hit 70mph before it hits the ground... hehe

poopie ur retarted until you acually know about r/c cars don't go around thinkin ur smart and no one is going to take you seriously when ur name is poopie grow up retard
ummm i have seen lots of rustlers with a .21 engine

if you change the gear ratio very, very low you can hit any speed you want to... Just not really quickly.
02-05-2001, 09:36 PM
couldn't you play around with the engine. like bore it out or something. i hear people who claim they done it at my LHS but not sure if it can really be done.

Have you tried adding those upgrade to your truck?
65 tooth spur and 22 tooth clutch will add about 5 mph
A tuned pipe will not add that much rpm to your engine to drastically change your speed. the speed difference is noticeable though depending which pipe you have.
The powerline cooling head doesn't do ****. the combustion chamber so it will not affect the engine rpm wise but will decrease your running temperature.
tire slicks will not change your speed...it will probably decrease it because they are smaller in diameter.
a vented flywheel will just keep you engine running cooler and increase acceleration.
with these upgrade you will get to about 45 mph depending your needle settings on your engine.
Sooper_nitro_stampede, now lets see if you can give me an explanations why those upgrades will get a nitro rustler to go 60 mph. you don't know **** about rc's, how long have you been racing? how many races have you won? what rc's have you actually owned?
i have been racing nitro sedans for 4 years and nitro trucks for 3. i have been racing electrics for 7 years. and i have been in this hobby for 10 years. i have won countless amounts of races in the a-mains.
no one will ever take you seriously until you learn how to spell.

if you bore out the sleeve you will lose a lot of power unless you get a pro to do it. you can port and the trx engine and get some power and a little more rpm. here is the link [URL=http://www.nitrorc.com/mods/engines/trx15mod.html]

oops.. try this http://www.nitrorc.com/mods/engines/trx15mod.html

I've been looking at that nitrorc.com's page about polishing and boring your trx engine into a TRX-Turbo!... But maybe when i get bored of the trx engine or something...i've saved the page with all the pictures in tact and also printed it out so i have back ups for whenever i need or want to do that. Just in case the site goes down.

porting you mean. boring is not good for small two stroke engines. i ported my trx engines one of them was so fast it blew a bearing.

I am pretty unsure about doing 70, but with some of the ajustments that people listed here should make an improvement on speed, BUT don't forget, take that Toe-in out to also help improve the speed.
