First time I use this charger !!! Help !!!

I just recently bought this charger : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXL347&P=7 and I charged a 1500 mah battyer with it.I plugged in the charger,plugged in the battery.Set timer to 15 minutes and then waited.15 minutes cam and then a lred light came on that said trickle.Do I wait some more or is it finished???Thanks

I think the 'trickle' just makes sure the batt doesn't lose power after it sits, so I think it's alright to use it now.

Yea i think youre right.Because I just tried it out and it seemed like the battery was about as charged as it could get.I got another question though...IT says it charges up to 2000mah 6 or 7 cell.What if I get like a 3000mah 6 cell.Will it Still charge it or not?

That is just a timed charger. Yes, it will charge just about anything, but it's up to you to reset the timer and moniter the battery for full charge.

And the skipped bit of information IMO is this:

You need to learn how long it takes to charge your batts pretty much. The first time though, it goes like this.

Set it for 15minutes. When its done with that, turn it for 5 minutes at a time until the battery is warm.

Make a note of that time, and plan on it taking roughly that much time each time you want a charge.

You'll want to fully charge the battery, making sure its warm. You DONT want to accidently overcharge your batt for an extra 15 minutes. That would impact its lifespan some.

You'll also want to make sure you're battery is well discharged, but driving it around until it gets very slow. Not stopped, but very slow.

Then you're battery will take almost the exact same amount of time to charge each time, and those steps will also help maximize the battery's life.

I just got there first. There are so many, many helpful people around here. Just look sometimes and you'll see someone came by and helps out on like 15 threads during a break they had. Big_Shanaenae comes to mind! He likes to do a clean sweep down the page just like I do sometimes!

Do NOT overcharge. I had experiences with this. I had a battery melt in my room. Almost started on fire. Destroyed 3 batteries doing this.

Do not leave your batteries unattended!

I'd like to add that with that charger, it's on 'trickle' whenever a battery is plugged into it. You'll need to charge your 1500 for about 25 'real' minutes for a full charge. That timer isn't exactly the best in the world, and mind hangs up on me from time to time.

You'll also want to let the charger cool down between batteries, or put a CPU fan on it. As soon as i'm happy with my charger Mods, I'll start up a website devoted to turning cheapo 'timed-chargers' into a 'peak charger".
