Well, the front and rear assemblies are from the 4-tec, the lower chassis also, but the middle deck are from a rustler, so are the arms, the front shocks are from the 4-tec, not sure about the transmission, probably a 2-speed, because the 4-tec's bulkheads can't take a rustler transmission. I must say that thing looks kewl.

yes it looks smart, but is nothing but show to me, that body would handle like a bucket of doggy doo ... no downforce,
it also looks like he velcro's the fake engine + little grill in place..

a few years ago someone made a working 1/10 scale working v8 motor....i thought about finding one and hooking it up to a tc3 or rs4 with the shaft drive.....but finding one of those motors is really hard

someone from traxxas had to have built it.....unless someone modified a pullstarter to fit the 2.5 so they didn;t have to use the ez-start..there isn't a lot of room in that body

That isn't a pullstart from a trx pro .15. That is the pullstart that you can buy for a 2.5. As you can see, the handle is totally different than a trx pro .15's pull start, plus it doesn't have that blue sticker on the pull start.

what i meant was they could have modified another company's plus starter to fit the 2.5.....i know that there is some adds in RC action to make a ez-start to work on os motors

the way the pics are taken with the backgrounds, and with the person not replying, i tend to beleive he stole the photo's from another website and claimed em as his own..
the front end looks nothing like a 4tec to me, no front driveshafts, front axle carriers are different, no upper A arms, shockers mount in different location, no tiebar..just to name a few..

still, the car does look smart.. im not knockin its looks, i just dont beleive its their car..

the arms are off of a stampede or rutler...so it's 2wd...if you look at the front diff cover it is the same as the 4-tec....also take a good look at the chassis around the muffler and the rear shock mount...that is a 4-tec

NitroRCracer

yeah i could see the alloy chassis and rear end look like 4tec, yeah i guess the diff cover does look the same as the tec'

It's definitely a 4-tec. It's just that the upper chasis, and the whole front end except the gearbox and shock tower are from a rustler. All the rest are from a 4-tec except the rear shocks.

Whoa. I just looked at the pic closer and its 2wd. Cool. Isnt that the original front shock tower?

OneBigMan647

It's 1/10, it looks 1/8th cus it's really wide and the wheelbase is longer.

For everyone,
I thought I would post a message since there is some curiosity about my nitro 4-tec hot rod. And no, it is not a stolen image. I’m just a really good photographer :)

Here is the deal, the modifications are:

Front arms are off a stampede (same as the rustler). Arms have been modified to fit the 4-tec bulk heads. Linkage for the suspension arms is simply turnbuckles cut to fit. Also, the arms have been turned backwards to move the front wheels forward. I wanted the front wheels to be wider and further forward. I have modified the arms since the pictures....all of the cross bracing support on the inside of the arms has been cut out leaving a hollow triangular look. Looks much better.
Front spindles are from a street sport.

All front drive hardware removed to convert to rear wheel drive only.
Rear diff was converted to full posi, basically a spool now.

Steering servo moved to the other side so the pipe can be pulled in to fit the body.
The top chassis plate is a nitro 4-tec carbon fiber upgrade, only not all of the pieces were used. I didn’t need the front drive pieces and the receiver was moved to the rear of the car. Again to fit the slim body.

Obviously handling is of no concern for this particular project. All I car about is it going straight and looking cool.

Rear bottom chassis has been modified. The rear suspension arm stops have been ground off to raise the rear. Also had to make some notches in the arms to allow the drive shafts room. Longer shocks are used for more travel. I wanted it to have a stink bug look and I wanted it to “squat and hook”, although it does not act like it is even remotely trying to hook......its pretty much out of control......very cool!

Since the photograph an EZ-Start system has been added.

The cosmetic motor, grill, rear diff cover (look at the rear shot of the car) and the body are mounted using velcro. The reason for that is Its the cleanest way to remove the grill and cosmetic motor for running the car. Also looks much better not having posts sticking up thru.

The tire setup pictured in the chassis shot is what I use when I run the car. All rims used are Traxxas.

The two speed transmission gear set has been changed to make up for the tall tires in back.

So that’s about it......Hope you like it. To bad its not full scale.
