View Full Version : Rear tire lift in corners. Solutions?

When cronering hard the inside rear tire lifts. What suspension adjustments can be made to help eliminate this? Is the front to soft? Also the front of the rustler sits slightly lower than the rear. Should it be level front to rear?

Did you put the 50wt in all four shocks or just the front? Did you adjust the ride hight with spacers in the shocks or by using the second mounting position for the front shocks? I also noticed you can lower the rear by moving the axle carrier up a hole. I just do not want to loose ground clearance.

I used 50 wt all the way around. I tried using pre-load spacers on the front but found my rear end sliding out to much on hard corners so i moved to the inside hole on the lower a arms. I have not adjusted the axel carrier at all.

move the shocks in and you will have good ride height.

Thank you for the respoce. I'll move the front shocks inboard tonight and see how that works. http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/wink.gif

I had the same prob with my rustler. I put 50 wt shock oil in my shocks and adjusted the ride height (so when it's sitting on the ground the front is the same height as the back)

Now when i corner i just have to worry about keeping my tires from spinning!!!

good luck

if your rear inside tire is spinning on hard turns that means that your front suspension is too soft

STIFFEN THE FRONT SHOCKS, AND TAKE out a few spacers on the back

(sorry for caps, im too lazy to fix it)

to fix mine, i got 4 20lb/in street springs and them together to make two different 2in springs and put them in place of my stock front springs, works pretty well, but it doesn't turn too sharply at high speeds.

Your problem is that your rear shocks are too hard and the front are too soft. To fix this just put preloaded spacers in the front and make the front suspension stiffer.

too soft? that's as stiff as they come. last week i replaced my rear springs with those and put 3.8lb springs in each of the fronts and it seems to work fine. i wouldn't be suprised if i was the exception for this rule, i am the exception for many things when it comes to hobbies.(very long story, very problematic)
