Why would you switch running gear?

Why would you switch your running gear to a sapphire/Super Rooster set-up when you could get essentially the same thing by using the Monster Maxx motors? The cost involved in switching motors and esc is around $175 when a motor upgrade is only about $100. You mention runtime, but until now runtime on previous vehicles has been 8 min. or so, and speed is not increased at all. It seems that you could purchase better batteries and get the results you want. I get around 15 min. with 3000's and MMaxx wilds. If $$ isn't the issue, then I guess go for it, but I will stick to MMaxx motors and the stock esc.

It makes sense if you sell your existing equipment and make the switch. I have met several who still have the existing equipment laying around and that drives me nuts; I hate having decent equipment laying around and not being utilized. I guess that I have been fortunate enough to not fry my stock esc.

I just installed my "Wilds" today. I like them alot. If my esc would of fried out of the box I would of put in a SR and Mag Mayhems or Saphires too. But mine works great so I upgraded to the trinity's. I can not see why someone would swap out a system for nothing, which I believe some have.

I wanted to do the SR set up, but I looked at the cost, and went with the Monster MAxx Pros and some 3000 batteries. Besides, I want to get the brushless motors when they come out anyway!

I am on my 6th ESC and am tired of frying them. My E has never seen rain or snow. What ESC do you prefer. I am using sanyo 2400 match cells and get about 18-20 min runtime when the ESC hasnt been smoking.

i switched mine b/c i fried the stocker and i sent it in and i couldnt stand looking at a $300 paperweight so i got a screaming deal and switched so i didnt have 2 sit there and look at it i could go in the backyard and beat on it. only now i can beat on it 2x as long and that rules. not only that but i could drop in some hotter mods and get faster
