Hi - I've just bought a second hand 4 tec. All is well but I have tried to cut in the cooling hole in the windscreen as the manual suggests but have failed! What is the easiest way to cut the hole in the screen?
I have tried using a craft knife but that struggles to cut through it. I've also tried using sissors but that doesn't give a clean cut.
please help me

The best way I have found is to use body scissors. Duratrax makes a good pair you could get on-line or your local Hobby. They are heavy duty and have a short curved cutting surface for doing curved surfaces and tight radii. First locate the center of your hole in line with the engine head and check your racing spec's for size limit if you are going to race (ROAR is a 2 inch dia. or 2" diagonal across a square or rectangle. A round hole actually give you more area if you do the math, plus it is the best for stress relief so cracks don't start. Once you mark the center, use a compass to mark the hole size. Drill a hole in the middle to start your scissor cut and continue cutting in a spiral until you reach your mark. It
is a good idea to put one in the rear window as well, right behind the head.
hope this helps,
Terry
