Traxxas invades Indianapolis for the U.S. Nationals with Courtney Force and the Traxxas Ford Mustang Funny Car. Each Labor Day weekend, NHRA racers and fans descend on Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis for the biggest, oldest, richest, and most prestigious drag race in the world. They say that no career is truly complete without a win at drag racing’s grandest event. The fabled strip is regarded by many as one of the smoothest on the circuit, and the stakes are indeed high. This event is the final race of the regular season and sets the 10-driver fields for the upcoming six-race Countdown playoffs. Take a test drive on the Traxxas Try-Me Track. Visit the Traxxas model display, have your picture taken with the Traxxas Girls, and check out big-air demos as we showcase the power and durability of our high-performance radio controlled models.
The NHRA Traxxas Nitro Shootouts, which are races within a race, will be conducted at the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, with Top Fuel showcased Saturday, Aug. 31, and Funny Car featured on Sunday, Sept. 1. Teams qualify for the NHRA Traxxas Nitro Shootouts by winning an NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series regular season event, holding the No. 1 spot in the standings after the event in Brainerd, Minn., or via a fan vote and lottery-style drawing. The NHRA Traxxas Nitro Shootouts will award $100,000 to the winners in both the Top Fuel and Funny Car events. The program will award the top four finishers in each event, with the runners-up receiving $15,000 and the semifinal losers $7,500.
